About the artist:
Bukola is a contemporary texture artist and model based in the United States of America.
Inspired by nature, fashion, world scenery and architecture, Bukola creates art using multidimensional textures, fabrics, and unconventional materials.
Growing up in Nigeria, Art was not encouraged - society pushed for students to become doctors, lawyers or engineers - as Art was not considered to lucrative or sustainable and looked down upon. But art is life, love, beauty and the world is incomplete without it.
After moving to the U.S. for college, Bukola connected with creatives and started to explore her creative side, venturing into modeling, which led to walking for Paris and DC Fashion Week and being published in MOMA NYC. Bukola now works with textures and fabrics inspired by her fashion background as a model, stylist and creative director as seen in Vogue Italia.
Bukola started creating art consistently during the pandemic as it was a beautiful escape and something that brings her joy till today.
